Policy Owner: Redacted Hosting
Effective Date: December 20, 2025
Last Reviewed: December 20, 2025
Scope: This User Agreement applies to all users of Redacted Hosting’s websites and services (including but not limited to redactedhosting.com, training.redactedhosting.com, and any related platforms). It governs the use of all features and content on these services.
Summary
This agreement sets out the rules and terms for using Redacted Hosting’s platform. It details user responsibilities and prohibited activities, explains how we handle user-generated content and intellectual property, and clarifies the limits of our liability. The agreement also covers account security, termination of accounts, changes to the terms, dispute resolution procedures, governing law, and contact information. Additional sections include disclaimers of warranty, indemnification obligations, age restrictions for users, a note that the platform’s content is not professional advice, and how we handle third-party links. Users must agree to this User Agreement before accessing our services; if you do not agree, do not use the platform.
Full policy
Acceptance of Terms:
By accessing or using any part of our platform or services, you indicate that you accept these Terms of Service in full. If you do not agree with these terms, you must not use our website, LMS, or any related services. You agree that clicking an “I Agree” button or simply continuing to use the service constitutes your electronic signature and acceptance of this agreement.
Example: If you create an account and enroll in a course on our training platform, that action confirms you have read and agreed to all the terms outlined here.
User Responsibilities:
You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable local, state, federal, and international laws and regulations. You must provide accurate information when creating your account (no false identities or impersonation) and keep your information up-to-date. You also agree not to engage in any harmful, fraudulent, or disruptive behavior on the platform.
Example: Do not use the LMS to share pirated content (which is illegal) or to post harassing messages toward other users. Similarly, do not pretend to be someone you are not – e.g., do not create an account using someone else’s name or personal details.
Content Ownership and Intellectual Property (User Content):
You retain ownership of any original content that you create and upload to our platform. However, by uploading or posting content on the platform, you grant Redacted Hosting a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, distribute, modify, and adapt your content as needed to operate the service (for example, to display it to other users in your course or to format it for different devices). This license only applies for the purpose of running and improving the service, and it does not transfer ownership of your content to us. If you remove your content from the platform, the license will generally end at that time, except for limited historical or backup copies, or where your content has been shared with others who still have access to it.
Example: If you create a study guide document and upload it for a class, you still own that document. You have simply given us permission to store it on our servers, show it to your instructors and fellow students as needed, and back it up. We won’t sell your study guide or use it outside of our learning platform without your permission.
User-Generated Content and Legal Compliance:
You are solely responsible for all content that you upload or create on our platform. This means you must ensure that your content does not violate any laws or anyone else’s rights (including intellectual property rights, privacy rights, etc.), and that it is not defamatory, obscene, or harmful to others. We do not pre-screen user content, but we reserve the right to remove any user-generated content (UGC) that violates these terms or is otherwise objectionable. If your content violates someone else’s copyright or other rights, or these Terms in general, your content may be taken down and your account could be suspended or terminated.
Example: If you upload a video or document that you did not create and do not have permission to use (such as a copyrighted textbook PDF or someone else’s proprietary training video), and the rights owner notifies us or we discover it, we will remove that content. We may also terminate your account if you repeatedly infringe copyrights or break the rules.
Redacted Hosting’s Intellectual Property:
All content and materials provided by Redacted Hosting through our websites and LMS – including our software, design elements, logos, graphics, course templates, and any proprietary content created by our team or partners – are the intellectual property of Redacted Hosting or our licensors. These are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You are not allowed to copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our proprietary content unless we give you explicit written permission. You also may not remove or obscure any copyright or trademark notices on the platform. Redacted Hosting’s name and logos are protected trademarks, and you may not use them without our prior consent.
Example: You may watch videos or read materials that Redacted Hosting provides as part of a course, but you cannot download those videos and post them elsewhere, nor reuse our graphics or text in your own publications without permission. Likewise, you cannot use our company name or logo in a way that confuses others into thinking you represent our company.
Account Security:
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login credentials (username and password) and for any activity that occurs under your account. Do not share your password with anyone else. If you suspect that your account has been accessed without your authorization or your password has been compromised, you must notify us immediately at support@redactedhosting.com so we can help secure your account. We also recommend enabling any additional security features we provide (such as two-factor authentication, if available) to further protect your account.
Example: If you share your login with a friend and they post prohibited content or otherwise violate the rules, your account could be penalized or terminated since you are responsible for actions taken with your credentials. If someone hacks your account and you notice strange activity (like courses you didn’t enroll in, or settings changes), contact our support right away and change your password.
Prohibited Activities:
When using Redacted Hosting services, you must NOT engage in any of the following activities:
-
Illegal Content or Activity: Do not upload, share, or promote any content that is illegal, violates any third-party intellectual property rights, or encourages illegal activity.
-
Example: Posting copyrighted material (like e-books, music, or videos) that you don’t have permission to share, or engaging in any kind of fraud or hacking, is strictly forbidden.
-
-
Malicious Software or Hacking: Do not distribute viruses, malware, or any other harmful code, and do not attempt to disrupt or damage our platform or other users’ computers. Any attempt to hack, crash, or overload the service is prohibited.
-
Example: Uploading a virus-infected file or using automated scripts to flood the forums with spam would fall under this prohibition and could result in immediate termination of your account.
-
-
Harassment or Hate Speech: Do not harass, bully, or threaten other users. This includes using hateful or discriminatory language toward anyone on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Maintain a respectful environment.
-
Example: Sending another user abusive messages or slurs in a course discussion board is harassment and is not allowed.
-
-
Disruption of Service: Do not perform any actions that could interfere with or impair the normal operation of the platform. This includes spamming the system, launching denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise attempting to sabotage the usability of the services for others.
-
Example: Repeatedly posting the same message in dozens of forums (“spamming”) or using bots to rapidly make requests to our servers (potentially causing slowdowns) are forms of service disruption and are prohibited.
-
-
Unauthorized Access: Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, data, or system that you are not allowed to access. Similarly, do not use any automated means (such as bots, scrapers, or scripts) to collect others’ data or to access the service in a manner not provided by us.
-
Example: Trying to log into another user’s account, scanning our systems for security vulnerabilities, or scraping content from the site using an automated script without permission violates this rule.
-
-
Impersonation and False Information: Do not impersonate any person or entity, or falsely claim an affiliation with any person or organization. You should not misrepresent your identity or provide false information in any part of the platform (including profiles, support tickets, etc.).
-
Example: Creating an account under someone else’s name or pretending to be an official representative of Redacted Hosting or another company when you are not is strictly prohibited.
-
-
AI-Generated Illegal Material: Content generated by artificial intelligence or similar tools that depicts illegal or banned subject matter will be treated as if you created or uploaded illegal content yourself. Simply put, using AI is not a loophole to produce disallowed content. If it’s not allowed in original form, it’s not allowed in AI form either.
-
Example: Using an AI tool to produce an image that resembles illegal imagery or a fake document, or generating text that contains hate speech or instructions for illicit activities, is treated as a violation just like uploading the banned content directly.
-
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against any user who, in our judgment, engages in any of the above prohibited activities. This action may include content removal, account suspension or termination, and, if necessary, reporting to law enforcement authorities.
Exclusion of Liability (Limitation of Liability):
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Redacted Hosting (redactedhosting.com, training.redactedhosting.com, and our affiliates and partners) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or relating to your use of the platform or any content on it. This includes, for example, loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to this agreement or the use of the services is limited to the amount (if any) you have paid us for access to the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. If you have paid nothing (as may be the case for free services), our liability is $0. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence, etc.), except in cases of our gross negligence or willful misconduct or as otherwise prohibited by law.
Example: If the platform experiences an outage and you temporarily lose access to your course materials, causing you inconvenience or even a missed deadline, we are not liable for any resulting academic or financial consequences. Similarly, if content you posted is lost due to a system failure, any claim you bring cannot exceed what you paid us for the service.
No Warranties (Disclaimer of Warranties):
Our services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Redacted Hosting specifically disclaims any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the platform will be always available, error-free, or meet your expectations. Use the service at your own risk.
Example: We do not warrant that every course will be of high quality or that using our LMS will guarantee you success in your studies or career. Also, while we intend for the website to be available 24/7, we don’t guarantee zero downtime or that the site will be free from vulnerabilities or bugs (though we certainly strive to fix issues quickly).
Indemnification:
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Redacted Hosting and its officers, employees, and affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) that arise from your actions on the platform. This includes your violation of this User Agreement, any content you submit that infringes someone’s rights or violates the law, or any misuse of the services. In other words, if your conduct or content causes us to be sued or incur costs, you are agreeing to cover those costs.
Example: If you upload a third-party’s copyrighted course materials without permission and the copyright owner takes legal action against us, you will be responsible for reimbursing us for legal fees or damages we have to pay as a result. Similarly, if you violate a law while using our service and someone sues the company, you must indemnify (compensate) us for the cost of that claim.
Age Restrictions:
You must be at least 13 years old to use our services. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction (18 in many places), you may only use Redacted Hosting services under the supervision and with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By creating an account, you are representing that you meet the minimum age requirement and (if you are a minor) that you have obtained any necessary parental consent. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to use the service or collect their personal information without verifiable parental consent, in compliance with applicable laws such as COPPA.
Example: If you are 15 years old and your local law requires parental consent for you to join an online learning platform, make sure your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to your use of our LMS. If we discover an account belongs to a 10-year-old, we will remove it because it violates the age requirement.
No Professional or Academic Advice:
The content and information available on Redacted Hosting (including user-generated content and courses we or our partners provide) are for educational and informational purposes only. This platform does not offer professional advice (legal, medical, financial, etc.), and you should not treat any content as a substitute for professional consultation in those fields. Similarly, while courses may be taught by qualified instructors, Redacted Hosting does not guarantee that any information provided is authoritative or sufficient for your personal or academic needs. Always use your own judgment and consult a qualified professional if you need specific advice.
Example: A course on nutrition or wellness might provide general health tips, but those are not a substitute for advice from a licensed healthcare provider. If you have a medical condition or specific health question, you should consult a doctor, not rely solely on a course. Redacted Hosting isn’t liable for any actions you take based on information from a course without seeking professional guidance.
Third-Party Links and Services:
Our platform may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Redacted Hosting. For example, an instructor might link to a YouTube video or an article on another site as part of a course. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. If you click those links, you do so at your own risk. We do not endorse or assume any responsibility for third-party materials. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
Example: If a course page directs you to an external site for supplemental reading, and that site has inaccurate information or inappropriate ads, Redacted Hosting isn’t responsible for those issues. It’s on you to evaluate third-party content and take precautions (like using antivirus software) when visiting external links.
Changes and Amendments:
We may update or modify this User Agreement from time to time. If we make significant changes to the terms, we will provide notice to users – for example, by sending an email to the address on your account or by posting a prominent notice within the platform. It is your responsibility to review any such changes. By continuing to use the services after updates to the terms are posted, you accept the revised terms. However, if you do not agree to the new terms, you should stop using the services and, if necessary, cancel your account.
Example: If we introduce a new feature that requires updated terms (say, a new payment feature or a new way of sharing content), we might update the User Agreement to include those terms. We will inform users of the change. If you keep using the platform after that notification, it means you agree to the new terms. If you don’t agree, you might choose to stop using that feature or close your account.
Termination of Use:
You are free to stop using our services and terminate your account at any time. Likewise, Redacted Hosting reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the platform at our discretion, with or without notice, if you violate this agreement or for any other operational reason (including extended inactivity or suspected misuse). Upon termination, your right to access the services will cease, but the provisions of this agreement that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licenses granted to us, disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply. We also reserve the right to remove or reclaim any username or URL on the service, for example, if it is offensive or inactive.
Example: If you engage in hate speech or cheating within a course, we may immediately disable your account. Alternatively, if you simply haven’t logged in for over a year, we might deactivate your account for inactivity (per our policies) — though we would aim to warn you first. Even after an account is terminated, any indemnification you owe or any liability limitations we’ve stated still hold true.
Severability:
This means each provision of this agreement operates separately. If any part of this User Agreement is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, that specific portion will be severed (removed) from the agreement, and the remainder of the agreement will remain in full effect. In other words, an unenforceable clause doesn’t nullify the entire agreement.
Example: If a particular state or country’s law finds our disclaimer of warranties clause invalid, that clause would not apply in that jurisdiction, but all other clauses (such as user responsibilities, indemnification, etc.) would still remain enforceable.
Governing Law and Venue:
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles. By using the services, you agree that if a legal dispute does arise (and isn’t resolved through informal means or arbitration), it will be subject to the jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Virginia. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of these courts for litigating any such disputes.
Example: If a dispute ends up in court, it will be handled in Virginia. So if you’re from another state or country, you acknowledge that you may need to travel to Virginia or engage Virginia’s legal system for any litigation. (This does not override any rights you may have as a consumer under mandatory laws of your country, but generally the law of Virginia will be applied.)
Dispute Resolution:
We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any issues informally. Often, misunderstandings or problems can be cleared up through our support team. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, the dispute will be handled in accordance with the governing law and venue clause above. We reserve the right to require arbitration for certain disputes where allowed by law, and will provide you notice if we elect to use arbitration. Any arbitration would occur in a mutually agreed location (or via a remote process) and be conducted under a reputable arbitration provider’s rules. Both parties agree not to pursue class action claims against the other; disputes will be resolved on an individual basis. (If a class action waiver is not enforceable in your jurisdiction, this clause may not apply.)
Example: If you have a billing disagreement or feel that a course was misrepresented, you should first reach out to our support team to see if we can resolve it. If that fails and you decide to pursue legal action, per this agreement it would likely be addressed through an arbitrator or in a Virginia court, and you would bring your claim just for you, not on behalf of a group of other users.
Contact Information:
If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback regarding this User Agreement (Terms of Service), you can contact us at any time. The best ways to reach us are:
- Email: support@redactedhosting.com
- Alternate Email: info@redactedhosting.com
We welcome inquiries about the rules if something isn’t clear. Example: If you are unsure whether certain content you want to upload might violate our policies (perhaps it’s borderline or you want to double-check copyright usage), please email us before uploading. We can help clarify the rules so you don’t accidentally break them. We aim to assist users in understanding and complying with these terms.
Enforcement: Redacted Hosting actively enforces this User Agreement to maintain a safe and lawful platform. Users must accept these terms during account registration (e.g., via a checkbox or click-through agreement) and whenever substantive updates are made. Our team monitors for violations through a combination of automated tools and user reports. If a violation is confirmed, enforcement actions can include content removal, warning notices, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination, depending on severity. In cases of serious misuse (such as illegal content or security threats), we may report the matter to appropriate authorities. Internally, staff are trained to handle violations consistently, and we keep records of incidents to ensure repeat offenders are dealt with appropriately (including terminating accounts of repeat intellectual property infringers or abusive users). Our goal in enforcement is to uphold the terms fairly while providing users a chance to correct minor issues when possible.
Summary
Policy Owner: Redacted Hosting
Effective Date: December 20, 2025
Last Reviewed: December 20, 2025
Scope: This Privacy Policy applies to all personal data collected by Redacted Hosting through our websites, platforms, and services (including redactedhosting.com, training.redactedhosting.com, and any other related sites or applications we operate). It covers how we collect, use, store, and share personal information, and what rights you have regarding your data. (It does not apply to third-party websites or services not controlled by Redacted Hosting.)
Summary
Redacted Hosting is committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect from you, why we collect it, and how we use and share it. In brief, we collect personal information that you provide (like your name and email when you sign up) and data about your use of our services (like course progress and IP address). We use this information to provide and improve our services – for example, to maintain your account, deliver course content, support you, and keep the platform secure. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We only share information in limited situations, such as with trusted service providers (under strict agreements) or if required by law. We also describe your rights over your data, including accessing or deleting your information. By using our websites or LMS, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Privacy Policy.
Full policy
1. Introduction
Redacted Hosting (“we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect and handle your personal information when you use our websites and learning platform. Our aim is to be transparent about our practices so you can make informed decisions about your data. By using Redacted Hosting’s services or sites, you agree to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Scope of this Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through any platform or service controlled by Redacted Hosting, including our main website (redactedhosting.com), our training platform (training.redactedhosting.com), and other related online services, products, or communication channels we operate. It covers data collected when you register an account, participate in courses, interact with our sites (for example, through cookies), or communicate with us. It does not cover any third-party websites or services that we do not control. If you follow links to external sites (for example, a YouTube video or a partner’s website), their privacy policies will apply to data collected on those sites.
3. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information from or about you, as described below:
-
Personal Information: This is information you provide to us directly that identifies you or can be used to identify you. For example, when you create an account, we ask for details like your name, email address, and a username. We might also collect your mailing address or phone number if you provide them (for instance, if needed for billing or certification mailing), and any login credentials (like a username and password, although passwords are stored in encrypted form).
Example: When you sign up for an account on our LMS, you might fill in your name and email. If you enroll in a paid course, you might provide a billing address or payment info (handled securely by our payment processor). If you contact support, you might give additional info that helps us assist you. All of that is personal information we collect directly from you. -
Usage Data: We automatically collect certain information about how you use our website and platform. This includes technical information and analytics data, such as your IP address, your browser type and operating system, device identifiers (if you’re on a mobile device), the pages or screens you visit, the features you use, the time and date of your visits, and how long you spend on different parts of the site. We also track course-specific data, like which lessons or modules you have started or completed, quiz results, and other interactions within the LMS.
Example: We might log that you accessed the “Java Programming Basics” course page on January 5th at 3:00 PM from a Chrome browser on Windows 10, completed Lesson 1 and 2, spent 30 minutes on the platform, and attempted Quiz 1. We use this usage data to help understand engagement and improve the course content or user experience. -
Communication Records: If you correspond with us, we may keep records of that communication. This could include emails you send to support@redactedhosting.com or info@redactedhosting.com, messages you submit through a contact form, feedback you provide in surveys or forums, and any other communications. These records might contain personal information like your email address and the content of your correspondence.
Example: If you email our support asking for help with resetting your password, we’ll keep that email and our response on file (including your email address and the date of the request) so we have a history of support interactions and can follow up if needed. Similarly, if you fill out a feedback form about a course, those responses are stored so we can address concerns and improve our services. -
Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies (small text files stored on your device) and similar technologies (like web beacons or local storage) to enhance your experience and gather information. Cookies help us remember your preferences and settings (such as keeping you logged in or remembering your chosen language), maintain session integrity as you navigate through the site, and analyze how users navigate our site so we can make improvements. We may use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your device for a set period or until you delete them).
Example: A cookie might save your login session so that you don’t have to re-enter your password every time you visit the site within a certain timeframe. Another cookie might track that you visited our homepage and then went to the course catalog, which helps us understand usage patterns.
Note: You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. For instance, you can usually set your browser to refuse all cookies or to alert you when a cookie is being placed. However, be aware that if you disable cookies, some features of our service (like staying logged in or remembering preferences) may not function properly.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for various purposes related to operating, maintaining, and improving our services. The main ways we use your data include:
-
Service Delivery and Account Management: We use personal information to create and manage your user account, to enroll you in courses, and to provide the services you expect. This includes processing registrations, authenticating your access, and remembering your settings. We also use your information to deliver course content and track your progress. If the service includes any personalized elements (like recommended courses), we might use your past activity to tailor those recommendations.
Example: Using your email and password to log you in, using your enrollment history to show you a list of courses you’re registered for, or using your name to personalize communications (e.g., “Welcome back, Alice!” in the dashboard). If you forget your password, we’ll use your email to send you reset instructions. -
Performance and Analytics: We analyze usage data and feedback to understand how the platform is performing and how users interact with it. This helps us troubleshoot issues, administer the site (e.g., monitor server performance and load), and make informed decisions about improving features and content. Analytics might tell us, for example, that a certain video is too long and users drop off halfway, indicating we might need to break it into shorter segments. All analytics are generally reviewed in aggregate form, and when we look at individual data it’s to assist that particular user or investigate a specific issue.
Example: We might review completion rates for a module – if we see that only 50% of students who start Lesson 3 ever finish it, that might signal the lesson is too difficult or not engaging, prompting us to revise it. Additionally, we use analytics data to ensure the site is functioning well; if a particular browser is causing errors, our logs will show that and we can fix compatibility issues. -
Communication with You: We use your contact information to communicate with you, as outlined in our Consent to Communicate policy. This includes responding to your inquiries or support requests, sending you service-related notifications, and informing you of important updates. We might contact you via email (or phone, if appropriate) to alert you of things like changes to the platform, updates to policies, or issues with your account. We may also send you reminders or information related to your course activity – for example, a reminder about an upcoming assignment deadline or a notification of a new forum post in a class you’re taking.
Example: If the platform will be down for scheduled maintenance overnight, we might send you an email beforehand to let you know about the downtime window. If you submit a help ticket about a quiz not loading, we will email you back to troubleshoot the issue. If we update this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Service, we may email all users to notify them of the changes. -
Legal Compliance and Security: We may use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our User Agreement, and to ensure the security of our platform. This means we might retain certain data to meet regulatory requirements or to have an audit trail in case of legal inquiries. We also use data (like logs of IP addresses and user activity) to monitor for suspicious or fraudulent activity on the platform and to prevent abuse. If we detect something potentially illegal or that threatens the security of the platform or other users, we may investigate using the relevant data and possibly share information with law enforcement, as described in the disclosure section.
Example: We might keep records of financial transactions or invoices for the period required by tax and accounting laws. If we notice an account making hundreds of rapid requests to our server (possible attack), we will review logs (including IP addresses and usage patterns) to identify the source and may use that information to block the malicious activity and report it if appropriate. Similarly, if required by law (like a subpoena or court order), we might use stored data to comply with that demand.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy and to provide our services to you. In practice, this means we keep your data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. If you delete your account or request deletion of your data, we will erase or anonymize your personal information from our active databases, after verifying your identity to prevent unauthorized deletions. However, we may keep certain information for longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes (for example, maintaining financial records, or logs for security and fraud prevention). We also note that complete removal from all systems may be slightly delayed; for instance, data may remain in encrypted backups for a short time until those backups are cycled out. We have a separate Data Retention Policy (as summarized above) that provides more specifics on how long different types of data are kept and how you can request removal. We adhere to that policy strictly.
6. Data Security
We implement a variety of security measures to protect your personal data. These include technical measures like encryption (we encrypt data in transit via HTTPS, and sensitive data at rest where appropriate), firewalls and network security protocols to guard against external attacks, and access controls to ensure that only authorized personnel can access personal information. We also conduct regular security audits and updates to address new threats. Despite all these measures, it’s important to understand that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We strive to protect your data, but we cannot guarantee absolute security. By using our services, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks that come with sharing information online. In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law (for example, we will email affected users and report to regulators within the timelines mandated by regulations). We continuously update our incident response plans to handle such situations responsibly and transparently.
7. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties for their marketing purposes. We only share your information in a few specific scenarios, described below, and always with safeguarding your privacy in mind:
-
Service Providers: We may share information with trusted third-party companies that provide services on our behalf to run or improve Redacted Hosting’s platform. Examples include website hosting providers, payment processors, analytics services, email service providers, or customer support software. These service providers only receive the information necessary to perform their specific services for us. They are contractually obligated to keep your information confidential and to use it solely for the purpose of providing the contracted service. They are not permitted to use your data for their own unrelated purposes.
Example: We might use a third-party cloud hosting service to store our database – that provider technically stores the data but cannot access it in plaintext and cannot use it themselves. If we use an email service to send out our notifications, that service gets your email address and the content of the message to send on our behalf, but they can’t use your email to, say, send you their own newsletters. -
Legal Compliance and Protection: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or if such action is necessary to (a) comply with a legal obligation, such as a subpoena, court order, or regulatory demand; (b) protect and defend our rights or property, or the rights and safety of our users or others; (c) investigate or assist in preventing any violation of the law or our User Agreement, including fraud or security issues. We will only provide the information that is reasonably necessary in these cases and will object to overbroad requests if applicable.
Example: If law enforcement provides us with a lawful order to provide information about a user who is reportedly uploading illegal content, we will comply with the lawful request after verifying its legitimacy. Or, if a user’s actions are found to be endangering the platform or other users (such as a severe hacking attempt), we might share relevant logs or information with investigators or authorities. -
Business Transfers: If Redacted Hosting is involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, reorganization, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred to the successor or acquiring entity as part of that transaction. We would ensure that any such entity is bound by terms that protect your data in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy. You would be notified (for example, via a notice on our website or email) of any change in ownership or control of your personal information, as well as any choices you may have regarding your information in that event.
Example: If our company were acquired by or merged with another educational technology firm in the future, the user databases (including personal information) would likely be part of that deal. The new entity would then continue to honor the commitments we’ve made in this Privacy Policy (or inform you of any changes and obtain consent as required). -
With Your Consent: If we want to share your information in any situation other than the ones above, we will ask for your consent. For example, if there’s an opportunity for you to participate in a testimonial or case study that would involve sharing some of your details, we would only do so if you agree. Similarly, if you opt in to additional programs or integrations that require data sharing (e.g., linking your account with a third-party service), we will do so only with your direction.
Example: You might explicitly request us to share your course completion certificate with a third-party verification service or with an employer. In that case, with your consent, we would share the data you asked us to share. Outside such user-initiated scenarios, we won’t share your personal info beyond what’s described above.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live and the applicable data protection laws, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. We are committed to honoring the rights of users as required by law, and in many cases we extend these rights to all users regardless of location. These rights may include:
-
Right to Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. We will provide this information, usually in a common digital format, so you can see what data we have.
-
Right to Correction: If any personal information we have is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to ask us to correct or update it. You can also do this yourself for many fields by editing your profile information directly.
-
Right to Deletion: You can request that we delete your personal data. When you make such a request, we will erase or anonymize the information we have about you, except for data we are required or permitted to retain by law (for example, records of transactions for tax purposes) or for legitimate internal business needs (which we would communicate to you).
-
Right to Object or Restrict Processing: You have the right to object to certain types of data processing (for example, if you object to us using your data for analytics, in certain jurisdictions you can make that request). You can also request that we temporarily restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances—for instance, while we are verifying a correction or a dispute over data accuracy or usage.
-
Right to Data Portability: Under GDPR and similar regulations, you may have the right to obtain your personal data in a format that you can move to another provider. We will assist with a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format for the information that you have provided to us, if you need it.
-
Right to Withdraw Consent: If we are processing any of your data based on your consent (as opposed to another legal basis), you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. For example, if you consented to receive marketing emails, you can opt out later (as described in the Consent to Communicate policy). Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we already carried out before you withdrew, and it may mean some services become unavailable (for instance, if you withdraw consent to all communications, we may not be able to effectively maintain your account).
-
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising any of these rights. This means your service quality, pricing, or access will not change just because you exercised a privacy right. For example, we will not deny you services or charge you different prices simply because you requested a copy of your data or asked us to delete information, except as allowed by law (and in general, our policy is to treat all users equally regardless of privacy requests)[2].
To exercise any of your rights, please contact us at support@redactedhosting.com or info@redactedhosting.com with your request. For certain requests (like accessing or deleting data), we will need to verify your identity to ensure we’re protecting your information from unauthorized access – for example, we might ask you to send the request from the email associated with your account or provide some identifying information. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law (for instance, within 30 days for many requests under GDPR, with possible extensions), and we’ll let you know if we need more information from you or if any exceptions apply that prevent us from fulfilling your request in whole or in part.
Additionally, if you are located in certain regions (such as the European Union), you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (like a Data Protection Authority in your country) if you believe we have infringed your privacy rights. We encourage you to contact us first, so we can address your concerns directly, but you do have the option to seek assistance from regulators.
For California residents and others with specific statutory privacy rights: our California Privacy Notice (if applicable) will provide further details on how we comply with CCPA/CPRA, including additional disclosures and rights (such as the right to know categories of data collected, the right to opt-out of sale/sharing of personal info – noting again that we do not sell personal info, etc.). We uphold those rights as required and will provide a separate notice if required by those laws.
Opt-Out of Communications: As described in our Consent to Communicate policy (Section 8 of the User Agreement and in the summary above), you can always opt out of non-essential emails or messages. To do so, use the unsubscribe link in an email or contact us directly. Even if you opt out of, say, a newsletter or course announcement emails, we may still send you critical emails about security, legal issues, or account status as long as you have an active account (since those aren’t marketing but rather important for your use of the service).
Your privacy is important to us, and we want you to have control over your personal data. If you have any questions about your rights or how to exercise them, you can contact our support or our Data Protection Officer for assistance.
9. International Data Transfers
Redacted Hosting is based in the United States, and the primary servers and data storage for our platform are located in the U.S. If you are accessing our services from outside the United States, be aware that your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our facilities or our service providers are located. Data protection laws in these countries may differ from those in your home country. However, we take steps to ensure that your privacy remains protected. We implement appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal data as required by applicable law. This may include using standard contractual data protection clauses approved by authorities (for example, the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses for data transfers from the EU) or verifying that our service providers are certified under frameworks like the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (if applicable) or other regional agreements. By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other jurisdictions as described here, subject to these safeguards. We will handle your personal data securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy no matter where it is processed. If you have questions about international data transfers or require more information on the safeguards in place, please contact us.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years old. (In some jurisdictions, such as the EU, a higher age might apply for requiring parental consent – we abide by those laws and use 13 as a general minimum unless local law requires it to be higher.) If you are under 13, please do not use our platform or provide any personal information to us. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your region (typically 18), you should only use the platform with involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, as per our User Agreement’s age restriction clause. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13 (or under the applicable age threshold) without proper consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
If you are a parent or guardian and you discover that your child under 13 has an account on our service or has provided personal data to us without your consent, please contact us immediately. We will work with you to remove the account and any related information. We take children’s privacy seriously, and we comply with laws like the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States and similar regulations worldwide that aim to protect minors.
11. Third-Party Links
Our websites and courses may contain links to external websites or services that are not operated by Redacted Hosting. This Privacy Policy does not cover those third-party sites. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites. If you follow a link to an external site, any personal information you provide on that site is governed by its own privacy policy, not this one. We strongly encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site or service before providing any personal data to them.
Example: If an instructor directs you to a third-party tool or resource (say, a link to Google Docs for a worksheet, or an external article to read), and you choose to use that tool or site, be aware that you should check how that site will use your data. We’re not responsible if that site collects or uses information in a way that might not align with our standards.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or improvements to our services. When we make material changes to the policy, we will notify you in a prominent way. This might include placing a clear notice on our website (for example, a banner or pop-up) and/or sending an email notification to the address associated with your account, informing you of the update. The notice will explain any significant changes and may prompt you to review the new policy. The “Effective Date” at the top of this policy will also be updated to the date when the changes come into effect. We encourage you to review our Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Continued use of our services after a Privacy Policy update constitutes your acceptance of the changes, to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree with the updated policy, you should discontinue use of our services and may request deletion of your data as described above.
13. Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your personal data, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help and committed to addressing any privacy or data usage issues you might have. You can reach us by:
-
Email: support@redactedhosting.com
-
Alternate Email: info@redactedhosting.com
Please specify that your inquiry is related to the Privacy Policy or data privacy, so we can route it to our privacy team. If you need to access, correct, or delete your data, contacting support via the emails above is the best course, as noted in Section 8.
Policy Owner/Contact: If you have a particularly sensitive concern or believe your issue has not been resolved to your satisfaction, you may also contact our Data Protection Officer at support@redactedhosting.com (if one is designated), who oversees compliance with this Privacy Policy. We will respond as soon as possible, generally within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with any timeframes required by law.
Thank you for trusting Redacted Hosting with your learning and your data. We take that trust seriously and are dedicated to keeping your information secure and your privacy rights respected.
Enforcement: All Redacted Hosting employees and contractors who handle user data are trained on our privacy and security policies. We enforce this Privacy Policy internally through strict access controls and regular compliance audits. Any breach of this policy by our team can result in disciplinary action, up to termination of employment or contracts. We also have an incident response plan for handling any data security incidents in accordance with the policy (including breach notification processes as mentioned). For our users, we integrate privacy compliance into our systems — for example, by building features that allow you to exercise your rights (such as profile editing and data export tools) and by logging and honoring consent preferences. Users must agree to this Privacy Policy (for instance, via acceptance during sign-up or when substantial changes are made) to use our services, ensuring that privacy terms are part of the onboarding process. We periodically review our data practices and this policy to ensure we remain compliant with evolving laws like GDPR, CCPA, and others. If we find any area of non-compliance or weakness, we address it promptly. In summary, we don’t just post this Privacy Policy – we actively implement and enforce it in daily operations to protect our users’ data and rights.

Last Reviewed: December 20, 2025
Scope: All user data collected and stored by Redacted Hosting across all platforms (including redactedhosting.com, training.redactedhosting.com, and related services).

Full policy
Full Policy Details and Examples
Scope of Data Collection:
We only collect essential data required to operate our services (including our Learning Management System). This includes user account details (e.g., email address, username), course interaction records (quiz attempts, forum posts), and any feedback or content you upload.
Example: If you enroll in a course, we store your test scores and discussion posts so you can track your progress and communicate with others.
Retention Period:
We retain your data for the duration of your account’s active use. If you request account deletion – or if your account becomes inactive for a prolonged period (e.g., no login for 12 months, unless otherwise specified) – we will remove your personal data from our active systems. We will also delete or anonymize data that is no longer needed for the purposes it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required by law. (Note: Some residual data copies may remain in secure backups for a short time after deletion, but will be removed according to our backup retention schedule.)
Example: If you haven’t logged in for over a year, your account data (including any files you uploaded) may be archived or deleted in accordance with this policy.
Data Deletion Requests:
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at support@redactedhosting.com or info@redactedhosting.com. We will verify that you are the account owner (for example, by confirming your email or identity) before proceeding with deletion. Once verified, we will remove your personal data from our systems (except for any information we are required to keep for legal or operational reasons, which we will isolate and secure).
Example: If you ask us to delete your account, we may ask you to confirm via your registered email and perhaps provide a recent login timestamp to ensure the request is legitimate before erasing your data.
Data Security Measures:
We use industry-standard security measures — including encryption, firewalls, and regular security audits — to protect user data. However, no system is 100% secure, and by using our services you acknowledge the inherent risks of transmitting and storing information online. We continually update our safeguards to mitigate risks, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Example: Passwords are stored in hashed form and never in plain text. We monitor access logs for suspicious activity and update our software regularly to address new vulnerabilities.
User Access and Updates:
You can review or update your personal information at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team. It is your responsibility to keep your information accurate and up-to-date.
Example: If you change your email address, you should update it in your profile settings so that you continue to receive account notifications and password reset emails.
Compliance with Data Protection Laws:
We comply with all applicable data protection laws, such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). This means you may have specific rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access the data we hold about you, correct any inaccuracies, or request deletion of your data. We honor those rights in accordance with the relevant laws.
Example: If you reside in the EU, you can contact us to obtain a copy of all personal information we have about you (data access request), or ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”). If you are a California resident, you can request deletion of your data and we will not discriminate against you for exercising this right.
Limitation of Liability & User Responsibility:
By using our service, you acknowledge that any data you upload could be at risk of exposure if an unauthorized breach of our security occurs. We strongly urge you not to upload highly sensitive personal information to the platform. In the event of a data breach, Redacted Hosting will take required measures to inform users and authorities, but we cannot accept liability for damages resulting from such outside attacks beyond our control. You agree to hold Redacted Hosting harmless for any loss or damages arising from unauthorized access to your data, to the fullest extent permitted by law. As a user, you are responsible for using strong, unique credentials and for understanding that you should treat the data you store on our platform as potentially viewable by unauthorized parties in a worst-case scenario.
Example: Use a dedicated email address and a strong password for this account that you don’t reuse elsewhere. Do not upload personal documents like government IDs, bank statements, or other highly sensitive files to the LMS. This way, even in an unlikely breach, your most sensitive information isn’t at risk.
Enforcement: Redacted Hosting enforces this Data Retention Policy through periodic audits and automated routines. Inactive accounts and old data are flagged for removal according to the retention schedule. Users are required to agree to this policy when creating an account, and we will remind or notify users of significant changes to the policy. Any user who attempts to misuse personal data or ignores the guidelines (for example, by uploading prohibited sensitive data) may be warned or have their account suspended. Redacted Hosting staff will handle data deletion requests and breach responses in compliance with this policy and legal requirements.
